David F. Barker is an independent poet, writer and artist.
He paints mainly in oil, but also occasionally uses acrylics and watercolour. He often experiments with digital art. You can see some of his other work here: http://stores.ebay.co.uk/Francis-Barker-Original-Paintings
He writes articles, usually about artistic, local, political or timely themes, as well as short stories and longer fiction.
He is a published poet and his collection ‘Anonymous Lines’ is available at amazon.co.uk and amazon.com
He has had a life-long love of history and has a large collection of books spanning various epochs, but his consuming passion is English history.
He makes music, too. Guitars and sounds of all sorts have been his friends, his solace for years.
At some point, he feels that all creativity is the same, it springs from the same source of mystery. He has no idea where it is, he only knows he must answer the call.

now I see how you see yourself..
I seem to read ones art before i see what they think
of themselves,
I am backwards most days …LOLs..
I look forward to wandering and exploring your
words and visual words..
Thank you for stopping by mine…
I am drawn to England and its history too
not sure why, when i went for the first time a couple years
ago I had I think I left some of the energy of my soul there
or England imprinted me, not sure, whatever the reason I
continue to go back…
i hope to see you around…
Take care…

Thank you! Yes, like your name, I think blue and green are the dominant colours of England, but of course, so much of it has been spoilt. Even so, what remains is often magical and historic. Thank you for looking and commenting, I’m very grateful.
Mr. Barker I think you’re a very talented artist. The play of light, the impressionism. Very surreal, captivating.
I liked your Driftwood poem as well. Takes courage to shake off the sand and become driftwood.
By the way, there’s a problem with your profile. I tried to make it to your page from mine, and it wouldn’t let me. Said it was deleted. Might wanna look into it.
Anyways, I can agree with you about creativity. I feel it emanates from the same source as well, though I’m primarily a writer. Call it god, or the collective unconscious, or whatever.
Good to know ya.
Thank you Brian!!!
Wow. You’re an artist four or five times over. I’m totally impressed. Thanks for following my blog today…I’ll try to live up to the high bar you’ve set.
=)

Wow multi talented…I love your paintings…very romantic too!
I have enjoyed looking at your paintings on the websites you have listed on this page. You captured the cold, mistiness of the sea very well in the painting ‘Mysterious Boats’. I liked the energy of the paintings ‘Abstract Seascape’, ‘River of Daisies’ and ‘Into the Wild Wood’. I admired your words about being willing to experiment, trying to push the limits of your natural caution.
Hello , I’ve nominated you for the Reader Appreciation Award. More details here: http://wp.me/p1ZC80-Xh
Thank you so much, I am honoured!
Wonderful and thanks for sharing some things about yourself. Do I understand correctly that you write mysteries under a pen name?
I think I want to be you when I grow up … assuming I ever do!
LOL!
Jamie
Hi! Well, it’s my partner who is the crime writer and I’m just the poet/painter/whatever…! Thank you.
Thanks for clarification! … It’s all fun, isn’t it. I’ll check the books out. Your poetry and partner’s mysteries.
Happy days …
Hi David. I don’t know if you accept awards, but I am nominating you for the One Lovely Blog Award. I think your blog is very well done and a beautiful way of bringing your talents as artist and poet together. You can pick up the logo for your award at my next posting (August 3, 2012). Jane
Thank you so much Jane – I don’t normally accept awards but I really appreciate this, especially as I admire your talents so much.
Hi. Just think of it as a measure of my esteem for your art and writing. Jane
a highly-talented poet and painter has gone silent on wordpress. sufffice to say that your presence is missed!

Thank you so much! Back online now after weeks of internet problems but have finally got onto fibre optic – hope it’s more stable! Hope you’re ok.
wow! and i thought the only people who had connection problems were the ones who lived in third-world countries! congratulations, it must feel great to be connected with ultra-fast service! in contrast, sometimes a youtube takes half an hour to load.. other times a few minutes.. the other night i tried to play an hour-long concert, and it stopped/balked every time around minute 8!
enjoy your fast connections, and it will be great to see your future posts!
