The Passing of the Crown – A New Beginning for the United Kingdom?

We are told that the news of Queen Elizabeth’s death was conveyed to Britain’s new Prime Minister at 4:30 pm on Thursday September 8 2022.

Although we perhaps ought to presume that death occurred a little time before that, for astrological prognostication purposes, I am using that time to mark the official transition between the two monarchs, when the leading minister of state was informed of the passing of late Queen and the assumption of King Charles III.

So what does this chart reveal? I was immediately drawn to the Moon’s separating conjunction with retrograde Saturn in Aquarius in the third house, square to Uranus and the north node in the sixth house. From this I do suspect that death occurred sometime before, possibly as the Moon reached exact conjunction. Nevertheless, for official purposes this chart will still suffice.

Profound sadness, change – but also a return to tradition?

This conjunction in itself indicates the deep sadness of the nation and of people in general around the world, a profound ending, an official closure if you will, plus all the consequent sombre coverage exuded by the media.

But let’s remember too that this casts light on the new reign. Charles, it is said, or rumoured, is keen on slimming down the monarchy, making it more suitable for the 21st century (Aquarius), whatever that may mean. I certainly feel that the public will be generally in favour of such a revision of its monarchy and its role.

That said, I think this may also show an increased need amongst the people for traditional subjects and approaches, of looking back and taking the best parts forward. Great Britain has always had a strong need for continuity, which is why the monarchy has survived for over 1000 years.

The square to Uranus in Taurus from the sixth house could show that such a transition will not be easily accomplished, especially with the expenditure needed to ‘fix’ the National Health Service, for example; republicans will raise their voice in regard to this I am sure in the ensuing months and years. The north node in the same house shows that public expenditure on the services and utilities are the right focus from now on, even though such programs will be very difficult to maintain financially in the present paradigm.

Sagittarius is rising, indicating flux and change, but with Jupiter in Aries, even in retrograde, and in the fifth house of creation, there will be many opportunities for growth and enterprise in the years to come.

The Virgo Sun is fittingly in the 10th house of government, which to me symbolises the continuity of the monarchy and government, albeit in a more modest mode.

Healing the nation, its relationship to its leaders

Venus is conjunct the fixed royal star Regulus in the 10th house; I think this underlines an opportunity for healing and sealing the relationship between the people, its monarchy and even its government. There is a strong need amongst the public for a more honest approach from government ministers, for them to truly represent the people.

Mars is conjunct another royal star, Aldebaran, in a Gemini seventh house, meaning that Britain’s foreign policy in the new reign will be both forceful and varied. Mars is in good aspect to Mercury (ruler of the 7th) too from the 11th house, indicating that foreign policy and diplomacy will be crucial and, I believe, largely successful.

To end with a word of caution, undermining Pluto in the second house, combined with upsetting Uranus in Taurus in the sixth, reveal that Great Britain, economically and administratively, is going to see some fundamental changes which are going to be difficult to process – a situation which the whole world will have to face too.

However, I believe there is enough in this chart to indicate that Britain can rejuvenate and with the forthcoming coronation, probably in early 2023, there is much to look forward to with some cautious optimism.

Aquarius New Moon! Hopes, Dreams & Wishes…

Photo by Belle Co on Pexels.com

The New Moon in Aquarius has occurred, conjunct Saturn in its own sign, challenged by Uranus in Taurus.

Aquarius is the sign of hopes, dreams and wishes… and friends! It is also about freedom and humanity.

Now I do not subscribe to Uranus being the ruler of Aquarius, not even the co-ruler as some do. It is ‘positive’ Saturn who rules the Waterbearer, he is the planner, the one who looks ahead for the benefit of all, just as the Sun makes more serious strides northward from the Winter Solstice. Aquarius is not a rebel but a conservative at heart.

Saturn close to the New Moon encourages us to look to the traditional, the fundamental, as well as establishing something new. And with the Moon’s north node now in Taurus for 18 months, we should seek to establish something valuable and meaningful.

Uranus also in Taurus square to the the New Moon and Saturn warns us of upheavels, sudden and unnessary. Beware of negative financial changes, look for those which are of real benefit to us, otherwise our long term security will be compromised.

But we can hope, dream and wish for a better future right now, where we are free, although that freedom behoves us to take the best from the past and project it forward into a brighter future.

February 2022: World Tarot Reading

My 7 card ‘Days of the Week Spread’, or ‘Luminary Spread’ for the month of February 2022.

Justice at the centre Sun position indicates that legal matters will be prominent. Ongoing issues with governments and prominent individuals will likely feature, with the affairs in court and in the media being quite interesting and revealing.

Knight of Cups in the Moon position emphasises the emotions, family and home, areas of our lives which are going to be very important and active this month. A good time to nurture.

King of Wands in the Mars position shows that this will be a decisive and engaging month. We are going to see executive action from governments and agencies but also, perhaps more especially, from other organisations and individuals with much authority to act.

King of Swords in the Mercury position shows that local environments, travel and the media will become much more fluid and active this month. Expect some clarity and revelation in the news (especially after February 3 when Mercury turns direct).

Queen of Coins in the Jupiter position shows that the common people are going to be more prominent too, with more power to change existing legal structures at state and local level.

Five of Wands in the Venus position reveals that likely swift moving events will bring much change and instability among the public, but there will at least be a climate of appreciation that things are now at last beginning to progress to a better place.

And finally, 4 of Wands in the Saturn position of outcomes and resolutions, indicates that a feeling of more security and a sense of true, legitimate authority will slowly emerge as the month goes on.

Is The Pandemic Narrative Over? Tarot Reading

This is my 7 luminaries, or days of the week spread. For me the answer revealed here is yes… but….

Governments are starting to change their attitude and stances slowly, some quicker than others, but there remains caution.

That said, there is a sense of taking the initiative and accepting freedom. Most especially, people’s minds in general are about to likely flip, their attitudes changing fundamentally, once they realise the situation and start to tell everyone else and open up.

The overall sense of relief and emerging from an emotionally draining phase in our lives will be tantamount, leaving the majority grateful and happier that they can begin to look forward.

In Note Form:

Sun – overall situation – King of Wands: Leo; assurance, proclamations

Moon – feelings, responses – Knight of Coins: Capricorn; practical concerns, caution

Mars – action to take – Queen of Wands: Sagittarius; explore, consideration

Mercury – mentality, media, neighbourhood – Wheel of Fortune: change your mind!

Jupiter – higher mind, philosophy, travel – 8 of Swords: 2nd decanate of Gemini (Venus); an achievement reached, enjoyment, communicate it

Venus – values, feel good factor – 6 of Cups: last decanate of Scorpio (Moon); sense of relief, overcoming

Saturn – outcomes, resolution – 3 of Cups: last decanate of Cancer (Jupiter); spiritual progress, understanding

Uranus turns direct in Taurus. Hold on to your values

Revolutionary Uranus turns direct today, January 18 2022, at eleven degrees of the Bull.

Let me make myself clear, I am not one of those astrologers who believes this planet rules Aquarius. For me, the so-called outer planets are not higher vibrations of Mercury, Venus and Mars. If anything, they are inferior and demonic, whose influences are to be deflected and resisted, not utilised as virtual weapons against the masses.

Ever since Uranus’ ‘discovery’ in 1781, it has been associated with sudden change and revolution, and has somehow become linked strongly with Aquarius. This cannot be accurate, for Aquarius’ traditional and only ruler, Saturn, is clearly the exact opposite of Uranus! Are astrologers actually saying that all Aquarians changed personalities, became revolutionaries from 1781 onwards?

That said, what can we make of Uranus going direct today, the planet which can turns things upside down, in the sign of values, money, possessions and security? Well, if, as many suspect, lots of changes have been happening in the background in regard to banking, money and world economies, we should begin to see some ‘roll out’ of these in the next few days and weeks.

Any such changes aren’t liable to look too beneficial initially, and many may be downright shocking. For example, are we about to see some kind of long expected stock market ‘reset’? However, I also suspect that certain other changes have been resisted and good changes can and will occur, symbolised by Saturn’s square to Uranus from his true domicile in the Waterbearer. There has been a kind of war of attrition going on for some time, the participants of this said conflict we can only guess at.

Either way, we are in a period of great change. Tomorrow, January 19, the Moon’s nodes change signs, heralding a major shift in our focus, in the way we live. But more of that tomorrow.
