New Moon February 1 2022 – Fireworks?(Chinese New Year of the Tiger)

The chart is set for Westminster, England, and so is most relevant to the United Kingdom, but also in large degree to the world and especially the financial world as London is the prime centre.

Firstly we have the New Moon in Aquarius in the 2nd house of the economy, finance and security, conjunct the chart ruler Saturn, square Uranus in Taurus in the 5th house of speculation and creativity.

This is a good time for a new start economically, although serious caution is needed as the square to Uranus suggests that it could happen only as a reaction to some unexpected events around this time. Finance, the economy in general are certainly going to feature strongly during this lunation, and perhaps especially the unstable nature of it at present.

The government as well as the people are going to be shocked and restless. Expect the unexpected, especially with disruptive Uranus exactly conjunct the IC or nadir of the chart. Also expect the public to be expressive and vent their feelings. This could also be in reaction to unexpected and even shocking developments.

With Capricorn rising the overall feeling of the chart is about practical, logistical concerns, especially so with Mars exalted so very close to the ascending degree and also in positive aspect to a dignified Jupiter in Pisces in the 3rd house. There could be some good news for the masses in regard to executive changes, either in government or in big corporations. Today and in the ensuing day or two, there could be a lot of action, perhaps even some kind of military action, although more likely to do with the situation in the UK.

There is a very strong Capricornian element to this chart which will only underline business, economic and executive dealings. This will include the government as Venus in Capricorn is also the 10th house ruler, and Mars is ruler of the MC; expect some serious developments in regard to changes in policy and even with personnel inside the cabinet.

However, with Mercury still retrograde and close to distorting Pluto and with befuddling Neptune in the 3rd house, don’t expect too much clarity. Some events might be hidden, only to emerge around February 3 and beyond when Mercury turns direct.

Start to Build a Better Life for Yourself – The Moon’s Nodes Change Signs

Today, January 19 2022, the Moon’s nodes change signs.

What are the Moon’s nodes? Well, in fact they are two opposing points, intersections of the apparent path of the Sun and that of the Moon. These points move slowly backwards through the signs of the zodiac and take around 18.6 months to go through a thirty degree sign.

What do the Moon’s nodes mean? Well, you could look at it as a meeting of yin and yang, the masculine and feminine energies. But in traditional astrology, the Moon’s nodes have ancient dragon associations, and are termed Caput Draconis in latin, which means ‘Dragon’s Head’ and Cauda Draconis, ‘Dragon’s Tail’.

Enter the Dragon

The north node was seen as benefic, largely good and often associated with Venus and Jupiter, the benefic planets; and the Dragon’s Tail, the south node was seen as malefic, or evil, and associated with Mars and Saturn.

In more modern psychological astrology, however, such a clear dichotomy has been sanitised somewhat. These days, the south node is said to show where we have come from, our past, what we must leave behind, and the north node points to where we are going, or should be doing.

So let’s look at this. Over the past 18 months or so, the south node has been in Sagittarius and the north node in Gemini. Both of these signs are associated with travel (Sag long distance, Gemini everyday travel), communication, getting about, as well as our minds and mental interests.

Leaving the Past

The south node in Sagittarius shows that in the past, collectively, we have been used to travelling and thinking quite freely, widely. It’s something that comes to us quite easily. Both of these abilities have been severely curtailed for nearly two years now by travel restrictions and the constant fear in the headlines.

The north node in Gemini has forced us to think more locally, to use things which are near at hand, about our neighbourhood, our community, our siblings, our family too. We have reined in our expectations and have found some comfort there, perhaps rather surprisingly.

Do it Yourself

So, with the nodes changing to Taurus and Scorpio today, what should we expect? The south node moving into Scorpio suggests that previously we have gained security through others who have invested for us, perhaps leaving us in the dark in regard to the details. This can be dangerous, naturally, for how do we know these ‘others’ have our best interests at heart? We may have trusted too much, accepted the secrecy surrounding certain people, institutions and situations. We need to move away from allowing others to take responsibility for our lives.

This is where the north node in Taurus comes in. We need to take responsibility for ourselves, assess our own values, look after our own money, property and security and put them on firm, manageable foundations. Over the next 18 months we must therefore emerge as more practical and responsible individuals who can build better lives for ourselves, regardless of what the outside world might expect of us. With determination, we can do it.

Uranus turns direct in Taurus. Hold on to your values

Revolutionary Uranus turns direct today, January 18 2022, at eleven degrees of the Bull.

Let me make myself clear, I am not one of those astrologers who believes this planet rules Aquarius. For me, the so-called outer planets are not higher vibrations of Mercury, Venus and Mars. If anything, they are inferior and demonic, whose influences are to be deflected and resisted, not utilised as virtual weapons against the masses.

Ever since Uranus’ ‘discovery’ in 1781, it has been associated with sudden change and revolution, and has somehow become linked strongly with Aquarius. This cannot be accurate, for Aquarius’ traditional and only ruler, Saturn, is clearly the exact opposite of Uranus! Are astrologers actually saying that all Aquarians changed personalities, became revolutionaries from 1781 onwards?

That said, what can we make of Uranus going direct today, the planet which can turns things upside down, in the sign of values, money, possessions and security? Well, if, as many suspect, lots of changes have been happening in the background in regard to banking, money and world economies, we should begin to see some ‘roll out’ of these in the next few days and weeks.

Any such changes aren’t liable to look too beneficial initially, and many may be downright shocking. For example, are we about to see some kind of long expected stock market ‘reset’? However, I also suspect that certain other changes have been resisted and good changes can and will occur, symbolised by Saturn’s square to Uranus from his true domicile in the Waterbearer. There has been a kind of war of attrition going on for some time, the participants of this said conflict we can only guess at.

Either way, we are in a period of great change. Tomorrow, January 19, the Moon’s nodes change signs, heralding a major shift in our focus, in the way we live. But more of that tomorrow.
