What Does 2022 Hold – A Much Better Year? Tarot Luminary Spread

Let’s be honest, 2020 and 2021 have hardly been great years, have they? We need to look forward to something better in 2022, surely. So I asked the cards about the coming year, using my Luminary spread.

The first card I drew was the centre, or Sun card, which was the 2 of wands, and which I associate with the second decanate of Aries ruled by the Sun.

Overall I think 2022 will be a year of important decisions for us all and the key will be to make that choice. Anything decided next year will have a long term effect on the world and ourselves as individuals. I think we will have to decide what truly is central or fundamental in our lives.

The second card to the top left is the Moon card; here I drew the Star, number 17 of the major arcana. The Moon is our home, emotions, feelings, family relationships and the Star is very positive here. I think we will all be generally concentrating more on our feelings, our family and relationships, appreciating them and getting more out of what is already surrounding us at home and to hand.

Card 3 is the Mars card and here I drew The Fool. Mars represents our actions, what we must do. With this I think we should be encouraged to do something new and rather different, to start new projects and to do those things we may have been putting off for too long. Let’s get creative.

Card 4 at the top is the Mercury card, representing our minds, siblings, local environment, travel and the media. The Queen of Wands here, which I correspond to Sagittarius, suggests to me that the restrictions that have been put on us in regard to travel and associations with those around us will certainly lift through this year. This card is more of free spirit and highly positive. We should also see big changes in the way the news media works.

At the bottom is the Jupiter card, which is to do with our philosophy, religion, long distance travel. Here we have one of my favourite cards, the King of Swords, whom I associate with Aquarius. This card is assured in what he knows, works swiftly, yet with justice. I think long distance travel restrictions will go along with the more local ones. This will also be an important year spiritually, during which we see something of the beginning of a revival in traditional religious belief and philosophy.

The Venus card is at the bottom left position and here there is the Knight of Swords, which I view as Libra. Venus in astrology shows how we relate in general, and how our sense of worth is pitched. I think we will all be reassessing what is most valuable to us, and I think relationships will come right at the very top. After two years of suffering, we need not be surprised by this!

The final card is the Saturn card at the bottom right position. Here I drew the Four of Coins, or the first decanate of Taurus ruled by Venus. The Saturn position is to do with outcomes, practicalites and limitations. The Four of Coins here suggests that in financial and security terms, 2022 will be a much better year, certainly much better than we might be expecting right now. By the year’s end we may all, in general, be feeling much more secure and looking forward to a future that promises greater abundance.

Today’s Tarot: Difficult Choices

A day perhaps of ambivalence, where we are in two minds. Making the choice is the important thing but it won’t be easy. A good day for reading and mental pursuits.

Emotionally there is a need to make progress, to set the ball rolling in some important matter, to make changes, although this is unlikely to be straightforward.

Ultimately you may have to accept that changes will occur in their own time and that any period of disruption is not likely to last long.

So, What Happened to America on 11.22.1963? Tarot Zodiac Reading

I asked a general question, what happened to America on November 22 1963?

We all know what happened in one sense, but at a deeper level, what transpired on that day and in the ensuing days and weeks?

This is a tarot zodiac spread, simulating an astrological chart with its twelve houses.

Card 1 on the mid left is the first house, represented here by the Lovers. Ironically, the so-called ‘Swinging Sixties’ could be said to begin on this very date, with one of the most traumatic days in American history. The personality of the USA was transformed, creating disharmony and the need to heal. The great outpourring of love for the slain president also left a great emotional scar that is barely healed even today. Yet, this card implies that it will be overcome and the healing process will succeed. There has been help given.

Conflagration Avoided?

The opposite card number 7 on the right is Temperence, representing the country’s relationships. This indicates the great need for balance, peace, diplomacy and toleration, something quite evidently in short supply during the 1960s, but which was somehow achieved in the immediate aftermath of the assassination, despite the trauma and chaos. The whole situation could have easily escalated into something even more serious, like a general world conflagration.

Card 2, representing the second house of security and finance, is the 2 of Coins. This is opposed in house 8 of death and investment by the Wheel of Fortune. Here is shown an emerging duality in political and security issues and the fact that the sudden death of the chief executive did indeed turn everything on its head, despite the impression that the country simply carried on regardless. Within a year, the Vietnam War began in earnest, dividing the country.

A Sense of Injustice

Cards 3 and 9, houses of the mind, media, communication, foreign affairs and justice are represented by the 5 of Cups and Justice. I view the 5 of Cups as the second decanate of Scorpio ruled by the Moon. Quite understandably, the whole country was mentally traumatised and conflicted, but the sense of injustice did not go away. Very soon after the assassination, many began to seriously question the emerging narrative about what happened on that awful day. The repercussions of this are still going on today.

Cards 4 and 10 are the houses of homeland and government. I see the 3 of Coins as the third decanate of Capricorn ruled by Mercury. Very soon the logistical implications of administering a war on the other side of the world would cause a great rift the governing class, indicated by the 2 of Wands at house 10.

Four Lads from Liverpool

Cards 5 and 11 are the areas of entertainment, investment and group interests. The 7 of Swords in house 5 implies the need to distract the public mentally through entertainment. Let’s not forget that in less than three months four young men from Liverpool would arrive in America and plug a huge, gaping whole in America’s psyche. America and the world was changed, practically overnight. The 4 of Coins in house 11 might just be the most famous band of all time, bringing music and melody (Taurus=4 of Coins) to the public (11th house).

Finally, there are cards 6 and 12, areas of work, service, health and psychology. The 9 of Coins is the last decanate of Virgo ruled by Venus at house 6, indicating the practical attainments that were to be had with a diversifying economy and the workforce. One of the great achievements of the new administration has come to be called ‘The Great Society’.

Nevertheless, the Strength card in position 12 is a testimony not only of the courage needed, both emotionally and spiritually during these times, but also the defiant nature of the American public which is still evident today.

Tarot Reading for Week Beginning 21.11.21: An Important Week?

We could see the overt return of an important individual upon the world stage. Either way, something of major significance will occur this week to do with security, authority and stability, hopefully in a positive sense.

However, in the background major changes will occur, some of them quite drastic I think, although how much of this reaches the news is anyone’s guess. We may see, or suspect, the fall of some important companies or institutions.

The 5 of Coins I relate to the second decanate of Taurus ruled by Mercury. Much of the change will involve money, finance and the world economies. There may be bitter arguments and repercussions surrounding money and security, but it ought to be only temporary.

Are We Living In The ‘End Times’? What does the Tarot say?

The 10 of Cups suggests that we are at least at some major hiatus point, both spiritually and emotionally. Reset may be too strong a word, and resets can be good or bad… I pray it is a ‘good’ one, naturally. The word Apocalypse, despite its dire reputation, literally means revelation, showing the truth – and don’t we need that?

The 8 of Swords in the background suggests to me that there is some major achievement in the realms of the mind and media which we are just not getting – yet. As to the nature of this, I am not sure, but it may involve new forms of communication which can be trusted and be more stable for humanity as a whole. This card, for me, represents the second decanate of Gemini, ruled by Venus, hinting at a generally positive development which can aid and secure all our interactions.

The Magician in the outcome position indicates that our future can be self-determined and that we can make a positive fresh start, perhaps even literally manifest heaven upon this earth, in time. We, as individuals, neighbourhoods, regions and nations, will have the ability to manifest what we need through our will power, to make changes in our lives, so long as we have the right motivation to do good for the whole, as well as for ourselves and our families. Well, let’s make it so.
