Jupiter takes nearly 12 years to move around the zodiac and 12 is a significant number.
Its Aries ingress on May 11 2022 marks an important new beginning for travel, enterprise, philosophy and religion, just as the Sun’s entry into Aries each year marks a new beginning.
For Aries dominant individuals, a new phase of opportunity is upon you. Look to expand your interests, over the next year, bearing in mind that Jupiter will retrograde back into Pisces for a time later in the summer.
For people in general, we need to start looking more at ourselves, ways to improve who we are, how we appear and what we do.
For the world in general, this marks a phase for more opportunity, for greater leadership which is both benevolent and broadminded, whilst taking care of the sovereignty of nations.
For Great Britain, the ingress chart above indicates that the nation itself has now the opportunity to improve itself from the bottom up, and there will be practical openings to do this beginning quite soon.
The date of February 20 2022 marks the exact point of Pluto’s return to the place it was when the Declaration of Independence was signed at Philadelphia on July 4 1776, in late Capricorn.
Back then, the United States, primarily because of punitive British tax laws, was trying to wrestle free from the straitjacket of imperial control.
Some might suggest that right now the USA is fighting a similar battle for independence from an even more insidious controlling power, where even money, the creation of it – in fact the very nature of it – is in dispute.
Certainly, few would argue that the country is not divided, culturally and economically in a way it hasn’t been since the Civil War in the 1860s. Can a lot of this really be seen symbolised by Pluto’s return?
Bad Star
First of all, I do not believe that Pluto is a bringer of anything good. Many try to sanitise it as ‘transformative’, a force for necessarily destruction and renewal. That these are some of the symptoms of Pluto’s influence is undeniable.
However, in reality Pluto is a bad star, it can bring disaster, which is a word literally meaning ‘bad star’ in Latin. Pluto, a bit like its mythology, undermines, distorts and usually in secrecy, behind the scenes – and in a mask.
Unfortunately for the US, Pluto’s presence in the second house of finance and security, has always been and will always be, problematic. The very security of the nation has undergone many economic disasters and is experiencing another right now, along with the rest of the world, where inflation and debt are spiralling.
Drastic
And in Capricorn, which is about similarly practical, material, business and political concerns, the drastic distortions and divisions of our time have reached absurd levels, where there is seemingly no common ground left between liberals and conservatives. This is true worldwide too because Pluto’s transit through the highly political Goat has been common to all.
What is more, because Pluto represents hidden enemies and fifth columnists, it is not easy to see who you are up against. The one benefit of Pluto’s return may just be that, however; in the current exreme distortions being faced, the enemy could be revealing himself in a way not seen previously, or at least not since Independence.
There are some conditions in the US’s favour. Firstly, in the 1776 chart, Sagittarius is rising. Freedom is a word very much traditionally associated with America, and the country is going to have to reappraise what that word actually means.
Freedom
Sagittarius is the sign of freedom, ruled by the Greater Benefic, Jupiter, which in the July 4 chart is in Cancer, conjunct Venus in the 8th house of inheritance and investments. Here is the love of home, family, of being in love with the homeland and investing a lot of effort in it. It is this traditional national trait which is now being reinvigorated and will need to be, to essentially save what America is – or was?
The Sun (identity) is also nearby to Jupiter in the 1776 chart, with the fixed star Sirius in between. Sirius has a guardian-like nature and Americans are going to have to resort to this approach, this love of home, with pride, honour and committment if they are to save the traditional essence of their country in the long run.
So Pluto’s return, is in fact a window in a long process of drastic, traumatic financial and economic change, which began way back in 2008 when Pluto entered Capricorn.
Green Shoots
Pluto enters Aquarius in 2023, when we should begin to see, with some perspective, just what has been happening in recent years, and especially from 2020 to 2022, when Pluto was so close to that point of return.
And right now, there is a conjunction between Venus and Mars in Capricorn in the second house of the US chart. If ever there was a time to begin again, financially, it is now.
But the north node of the Moon in late Taurus, close to Algol the demon star, also warns us of the dangers of this time. Always proceed with caution, but we will have to wait until the spring to see true signs of those green shoots.
My 7 card ‘Days of the Week Spread’, or ‘Luminary Spread’for the month of February 2022.
Justice at the centre Sun position indicates that legal matters will be prominent. Ongoing issues with governments and prominent individuals will likely feature, with the affairs in court and in the media being quite interesting and revealing.
Knight of Cups in the Moon position emphasises the emotions, family and home, areas of our lives which are going to be very important and active this month. A good time to nurture.
King of Wands in the Mars position shows that this will be a decisive and engaging month. We are going to see executive action from governments and agencies but also, perhaps more especially, from other organisations and individuals with much authority to act.
King of Swords in the Mercury position shows that local environments, travel and the media will become much more fluid and active this month. Expect some clarity and revelation in the news (especially after February 3 when Mercury turns direct).
Queen of Coins in the Jupiter position shows that the common people are going to be more prominent too, with more power to change existing legal structures at state and local level.
Five of Wands in the Venus position reveals that likely swift moving events will bring much change and instability among the public, but there will at least be a climate of appreciation that things are now at last beginning to progress to a better place.
And finally, 4 of Wands in the Saturn position of outcomes and resolutions, indicates that a feeling of more security and a sense of true, legitimate authority will slowly emerge as the month goes on.
This is my 7 luminaries, or days of the week spread. For me the answer revealed here is yes… but….
Governments are starting to change their attitude and stances slowly, some quicker than others, but there remains caution.
That said, there is a sense of taking the initiative and accepting freedom. Most especially, people’s minds in general are about to likely flip, their attitudes changing fundamentally, once they realise the situation and start to tell everyone else and open up.
The overall sense of relief and emerging from an emotionally draining phase in our lives will be tantamount, leaving the majority grateful and happier that they can begin to look forward.
In Note Form:
Sun – overall situation – King of Wands: Leo; assurance, proclamations
Recently, on December 29 2021, Jupiter finally entered Pisces, its own sign. Jupiter is not exactly badly placed in Aquarius, but perhaps can be a little too ‘holier than thou’ at times. I think there’s been a bit too much of that in 2021. In Pisces, the natural generosity of Jove exudes compassion and largesse.
So what does the ‘giant planet’s’ entry into the Fishes mean for us all? Well for Pisceans especially, it may finally feel like coming home, to a place where you can relax and breathe. Psychologically, we should all begin to feel a little happier; things should start to fall into place a little easier – and this may also be true for the world until May 11, when rapid Jupiter enters Aries until the end of October, auguring in a completely new phase for us all.
Make the Most of it
Therefore it is important, I think, to make the most of the period from January to early May. The world will finally feel a little easier to live in. There might even be a resurgence in the practise of traditional religions, especially Christianity, a feeling that we need to dig deeper to get the best and most meaningful sense of what it means to be alive. It will be a good time for introspection, to meditate, to start that yoga class too.
It won’t be until late October that retrograde Jupiter moves back into Pisces, but only for a couple of months. So any work and healing in regard to your subconscious mind, or deep seated psychological problems, should really be completed by early May. Make the most of it, before Jupiter’s entry into Aries truly restarts the world.
