The Passing of the Crown – A New Beginning for the United Kingdom?

We are told that the news of Queen Elizabeth’s death was conveyed to Britain’s new Prime Minister at 4:30 pm on Thursday September 8 2022.

Although we perhaps ought to presume that death occurred a little time before that, for astrological prognostication purposes, I am using that time to mark the official transition between the two monarchs, when the leading minister of state was informed of the passing of late Queen and the assumption of King Charles III.

So what does this chart reveal? I was immediately drawn to the Moon’s separating conjunction with retrograde Saturn in Aquarius in the third house, square to Uranus and the north node in the sixth house. From this I do suspect that death occurred sometime before, possibly as the Moon reached exact conjunction. Nevertheless, for official purposes this chart will still suffice.

Profound sadness, change – but also a return to tradition?

This conjunction in itself indicates the deep sadness of the nation and of people in general around the world, a profound ending, an official closure if you will, plus all the consequent sombre coverage exuded by the media.

But let’s remember too that this casts light on the new reign. Charles, it is said, or rumoured, is keen on slimming down the monarchy, making it more suitable for the 21st century (Aquarius), whatever that may mean. I certainly feel that the public will be generally in favour of such a revision of its monarchy and its role.

That said, I think this may also show an increased need amongst the people for traditional subjects and approaches, of looking back and taking the best parts forward. Great Britain has always had a strong need for continuity, which is why the monarchy has survived for over 1000 years.

The square to Uranus in Taurus from the sixth house could show that such a transition will not be easily accomplished, especially with the expenditure needed to ‘fix’ the National Health Service, for example; republicans will raise their voice in regard to this I am sure in the ensuing months and years. The north node in the same house shows that public expenditure on the services and utilities are the right focus from now on, even though such programs will be very difficult to maintain financially in the present paradigm.

Sagittarius is rising, indicating flux and change, but with Jupiter in Aries, even in retrograde, and in the fifth house of creation, there will be many opportunities for growth and enterprise in the years to come.

The Virgo Sun is fittingly in the 10th house of government, which to me symbolises the continuity of the monarchy and government, albeit in a more modest mode.

Healing the nation, its relationship to its leaders

Venus is conjunct the fixed royal star Regulus in the 10th house; I think this underlines an opportunity for healing and sealing the relationship between the people, its monarchy and even its government. There is a strong need amongst the public for a more honest approach from government ministers, for them to truly represent the people.

Mars is conjunct another royal star, Aldebaran, in a Gemini seventh house, meaning that Britain’s foreign policy in the new reign will be both forceful and varied. Mars is in good aspect to Mercury (ruler of the 7th) too from the 11th house, indicating that foreign policy and diplomacy will be crucial and, I believe, largely successful.

To end with a word of caution, undermining Pluto in the second house, combined with upsetting Uranus in Taurus in the sixth, reveal that Great Britain, economically and administratively, is going to see some fundamental changes which are going to be difficult to process – a situation which the whole world will have to face too.

However, I believe there is enough in this chart to indicate that Britain can rejuvenate and with the forthcoming coronation, probably in early 2023, there is much to look forward to with some cautious optimism.

Mars Enters Aries – Positive Action!

Photo by Miguel Angel Pinel on Pexels.com

Mars has entered its own sign of Aries to join Jupiter, creating an irresistible energy for taking positive action in our lives and making new beginnings.

If you are a typical Aries type, or born with the Sun, or Moon, or Ascendent, or more luminaries in that sign, then the time for doing is now.

But whatever the quality of your birthchart, the universe is saying it’s time to stop thinking about it and putting it into action, pressing the start button on all those plans you’ve had on the back burner for two years, or more.

Particularly around May 29 2022, when Mars and Jupiter are conjunct in Aries, the expansive energy will be at its optimum, giving you the opportunity to forge ahead with new projects. It’s time to finally go for it, to do that final preflight check and be braver, knowing that in general terms the universe will back you.

March 20 Vernal Equinox @ 3:33:33 PM GMT – Plus Tarot Insight of Spring Quarter

An interesting time.

I was more than a little surprised at the time of the Vernal Equinox this year, the First Point of Aries, or the first moment of spring: 3:33:33 PM GMT (set for London).

Even on the 24 hour clock it is 15:33:33, the 1 and the 5 adding up to 6 which is two threes. The ‘coincidences’ in the numbers of late have been off the scale – but what does it all mean? I keep seeing 11:11 all the time too.

The chart is also interesting. The MC is exactly conjunct the North Node in Taurus, hinting that the aspirations of the United Kingdom, at least, are heading in ‘right’ karmic direction. The Spring Quarter will see Britain (and hopefully its ‘government’) looking to be more practicable, out in the garden, securing financial down to earth issues as best it can. It is where our focus should be.

The Sun is cusping the eight house, therefore putting emphasis on shared securities and inheritances. Karmically, we should be getting back some of the stuff we are owed, but we also need to read the finer detail.

The ruler of the chart, Mercury, is conjunct Jupiter in the seventh house of diplomacy and enemies. This actually bodes well for the next three months in regard to diplomatic negotiations, and treaties, with a fair chance of success.

A Virgo ascendant means that health and work will be strongly featured. The sixth house of the nations health and work is a little problematic. In this house there is a Venus Mars conjunction which is square Uranus in the ninth house. There will be shocks in regard to health information, some sudden changes too, perhaps, although Saturn’s presence here in its own sign may help to bring some stability and realism as well.

And finally, a void of course Moon indicates there will be delays, perhaps some quite frustrating ones. This Moon inconjunct the Sun means the ‘government’ may still not be wholly transparent about certain financial issues (pensions, investments etc) to begin with in this period, whilst the people (Moon) will want to have clarity of information sooner than it is forthcoming. (void of course Moon in second house on cusp of third house).

I believe this 7 Day Week spread largely backs up the above astrology.

8 of Cups overall, in Sun position: Second decanate of Pisces ruled by the Moon; an overall sense of emotional achievement, having got through this.

10 of Coins in Moon position: Third decanate of Virgo ruled by Venus; the people will feel a sense of relief that something has been completed, or taken down – a gathering, in preparation for something new.

Strength card in the Mars position: A time when positive action will reap many benefits in a short space of time, but beware of some of the consequences.

Two of Swords in Mercury position: Dilemmas in media, in short distance travel too (transport, buses, the tube etc), but which narrative do you believe? Dilemmas in health and work related issues too. Use discernment.

The Fool in the Jupiter position: Longer distance travel issues should become a lot easier, with many areas open for discussion. A blank piece of paper. A good time to look around for that higher education course too, or seek fundamental spirituality, or philsosophy.

Five of Cups in Venus position: The second decanate of Scorpio ruled by Jupiter; changes in emotional relationships will be discomforting temporarily, but probably needed.

Eight of Wands in Saturn position: The second decanate of Sagittarius ruled by Mars; by the end of the quarter around June, there will be a sense of achievement, having got somewhere, and having done it through our own volition.

World Tarot February 18 – Division and Resolution!

Sometimes temerity is called for, to have the moral fibre to accept that you are not going to see eye to eye with everyone and go your own way regardless.

Behind the scenes, however, we must remain confident that things are working out and difficulties are being overcome.

Ultimately, a show of force is often the best defence – and a way of earning the respect you deserve.

All 3 of these cards are forceful in some way. Two of Wands is the second decanate of Aries ruled by the Sun. The Six of Wands is the last decanate of Leo, ruled by Mars. And the Strength card I associate with Leo and the Sun.

February 2022: World Tarot Reading

My 7 card ‘Days of the Week Spread’, or ‘Luminary Spread’ for the month of February 2022.

Justice at the centre Sun position indicates that legal matters will be prominent. Ongoing issues with governments and prominent individuals will likely feature, with the affairs in court and in the media being quite interesting and revealing.

Knight of Cups in the Moon position emphasises the emotions, family and home, areas of our lives which are going to be very important and active this month. A good time to nurture.

King of Wands in the Mars position shows that this will be a decisive and engaging month. We are going to see executive action from governments and agencies but also, perhaps more especially, from other organisations and individuals with much authority to act.

King of Swords in the Mercury position shows that local environments, travel and the media will become much more fluid and active this month. Expect some clarity and revelation in the news (especially after February 3 when Mercury turns direct).

Queen of Coins in the Jupiter position shows that the common people are going to be more prominent too, with more power to change existing legal structures at state and local level.

Five of Wands in the Venus position reveals that likely swift moving events will bring much change and instability among the public, but there will at least be a climate of appreciation that things are now at last beginning to progress to a better place.

And finally, 4 of Wands in the Saturn position of outcomes and resolutions, indicates that a feeling of more security and a sense of true, legitimate authority will slowly emerge as the month goes on.
