across the rose fields
autumn birds are gathering –
petals flop to ground

little worlds shimmer
hanging from threads of nothing –
a sudden movement

rose petals tumble

the sun moving south
the north withdraws its spirit –
gather round the fire

Phoebus’ daily trail
around an expanding realm –
he enlightens me
