For millennia
We were herded and deceived
Tear off the shackles

Nexus

Walking by the river, a sheen
reflecting limpid blue of the sky;

a thought fell into the water,
rippling as far as I could see.

The fact that I was present,
born for some reason,

came down to this juncture —
a nexus in time.

Which reality?
We are never truly sure
Trust your inner voice

Haibun: Something Stirring

Photo by Pixabay on Pexels.com

The spring song of a great tit
halted my winter walk;
the next day he was there again,
marking out his territory
so early in the year.
Then the incessant cooing of doves
on our rimy roof,
interrupting my morning ablutions.
Though it’s cold outside
and my heart is playing the blues
there are signs,
signs of something new,
much more than mere signs
of an early spring
which nature corresponds.

Something is stirring
Winter birds are singing spring
They sense what’s coming

Long ago summers
Fresh fragrances of our youth
Swards of innocence
