Poem: Through the Window

In the cool still air I hear
dogs bark in the distance;
a clockwork train hoots through
on the old main line.
The turning willow hangs limp,
a sombre backdrop to the washing
which never had a chance to get dry

Poem: Fall Back

Fall back, spring forward.
The motions of a dynamo
in the sky all around,
unsuspected by all those
who walk around blindfolded,
as if awaiting execution.
