Beware of Those Demons and Delusions! Partial Lunar Eclipse November 19 2021

The full Moon, in fact a partial lunar eclipse in Taurus on November 19 2021, is closely conjunct the fixed star Algol, which probably has the worst press of any luminary.

After all, Algol in Arabic literally means the Ghoul, so what else should we expect? There have been many studies done about events and individuals with planets aspecting this malevolent star, which has associations with drugs, including alcohol (which almost sounds like the star, right?), delusion, violence and general extremes: Algol is the head of the Gorgon Medusa who was killed by Perseus in ancient Greek mythology.

So let’s be clear, this full Moon is likely to be pretty intense, more intense than usual. The Sun and Moon are squared by Jupiter in Aquarius in the third house, the ruler of this chart set for London, creating a tense T-square in fixed signs. Jupiter’s expansive nature is only likely to exacerbate the sense of darkness and drama. There is likely to be a coming to a head of an existing problematic political, financial and economic situation in the world as well as the UK. Jupiter is in the third house of communication, so we ought to hear about it, hopefully.

This is underlined by Mars, also in its own sign of Scorpio opposing Uranus in Taurus in the sixth house of health and work. I am thinking of the NHS and national issues involving health, work and money. However, Venus in Capricorn in the second house makes beneficient angles to Mars and and Uranus, highlighting an opportunity to offload some of this tension in new practical ways and directions.

What does a three card tarot spread suggest? Card 1 is the present situation, Card 2 the background or hidden story, Card 3 is the possible outcome.

I think we really are at a point of culmination here, but it may feel a bit like the dark night of the soul. Nevertheless, the Hermit is holding his light to show the way, it is essential that we look and discern what is going on. Knowing the truth can be a lonely place in a world of deception.

Behind the scenes a new situation is rapidly developing which we are still scarcely aware of. This is a spiritual battle, an undeclared war.

The outcome could be quite drastic around this time, or shortly afterwards. The Tower card in TDM is called the House of God; remember that any changes, however drastic are needed, even though it might be quite disruptive for a while. An old house has to be taken down before we can rebuild.

This card is number 16 of the Major Arcana, which adds up to 7, a number of progress, conjecture, change and strategy. God is working his purpose out, as the saying goes.

New Moon in Scorpio: Dreams, a Trojan War T-Square, and Peace — Laura Bruno’s Blog

Astrology & Health: Scorpio

In western astrology, Scorpio is the 8th sign of the zodiac, or ‘star sign’. It is classified as fixed water, though just how fixed water can be is anyone’s guess, unless one imagines a powerful channel, torrent, or waterfall. It is often described as the sign of ‘sex, death and regeneration’.

Traditionally the sign is ruled by Mars in its ‘darker’, more concentrated aspect. Since the discovery of Pluto in 1930, many astrologers believe that the outermost known planet, so termed, has superseded the rulership of the sign; I used to accept this too, but I have returned to a more traditionally based astrology lately.

All Hallows’ Day, Winters’ Beginning

Of course, this is also the time of year for Halloween and, more traditionally, Samhain, the ancient pagan festival celebrating the end of the harvest and the beginning of winter. November 1 is All Saints’, or All Hallows’ Day in Christianity. The sun has begun moving southward with Libra; now it begins to plunge into the depths towards darkness, at least from the perspective of those of us living north of the equator, where the daylight hours recede rapidly.

There is a polarity with this, Samhain in Scorpio exactly opposing the spring festival Beltane on May 1, in the sign of Taurus.

Sex Organs — And the Throat

In fact polarity is a key feature of astrology and bears heavily upon health. Taurus is the opposing sign of Scorpio, the former ruling the neck and throat. Scorpio traditionally rules the sexual organs, and it is interesting to note that when a male reaches puberty, the voice too assumes its more manly, deeper sound; think of all the choir boys whose careers end at this point!

As Taurus rules self security, Scorpio rules security in relation to others — hence the deeper, more secretive aspects of this much maligned sign, which ultimately needs to engage with ‘the other’ for its own security. This is why the sign is associated with sex and secrecy. It is often also said that Scorpio creates the greatest saints — but also the worst sinners. Maybe this is why the sign’s glyph is the scorpion, with the famous sting in the tail.

The Number 8 — and Weak Points

Numerologists out there would already be nodding their heads at Scorpio being the 8th sign, 8 being the sign of infinity, relating to the sign’s deep, penetrative and fundamental life and death associations, which are ultimately a mystery.

So as Scorpio rules the generative organs, they are often considered a ‘weak point’ in the strongly Scorpio type. Equally, there can be issues with the throat too, through Taurus. Fixed signs like Scorpio are often also more susceptible to arthritis and rheumatism.

However, being ruled by powerful Mars, the strongly Scorpio type is usually very robust and resistant to diseases.

Transits for the Libra-Scorpio Lunation — Becca Tarnas (Reblog)

The deep rhythms of Mars square the Jupiter-Saturn-Pluto stellium continue to sound the bass notes of this next lunation cycle that unfolds in the heart of autumn. As the cycle begins with the Libra New Moon, Mercury is already retrograde, traversing through the sign of Scorpio. Mercury retrograde reminds us to slow down, be mindful […]

Astrology & Health: Taurus – Astrology Musings

It is of course far too simplistic to assert that we are all typical of our sun signs. Logic implies that we are all rather complex, with our own particular strengths and weaknesses.

However, an individual birth chart analysis, where many other factors as assessed, can help to give a clearer picture of what we are made of, astrologically — and even throw light upon which health issues may affect us through our lives.

Nevertheless, the sun’s position by sign will always be a key factor and general indicator of our health.

Strong Supporting Role

Taurus lies in second place in the zodiac, the fixed earth sign and traditionally rules the neck, throat and thyroid gland. It’s sometimes easy to forget that the neck bears the weight of the head, yet correlates with the essential Taurus function of being supportive, dependable, even stubborn.

Strongly Taurean individuals are said to be prone to problems in the neck region. Taurus is ruled by Venus and this sign often produces excellent singers — which inevitably leads to problems with the throat, too.

Gardening for Peace

Taurus also rules the thyroid gland, which if low functioning through a lack of the thyroid hormone, can lead to slowness, weight gain, tiredness and depression. Sometimes there is too much hormone produced, which leads to hyperactivity. A healthy thyroid gland is clearly very important for our general well being.

Because Taurus is fixed earth, he or she likes security, stability and peaceful surroundings. Perhaps for this reason, Taurus loves gardens and gardening, generally a very calming pursuit which can work wonders for maintaining mental health.

Astrology is also about polarities, meaning the opposite sign can produce a reflex action in terms of health. The opposite sign to Taurus is Scorpio, which rules the genital and lower bowel region, which are also said to be potentially vulnerable areas for they typical Taurus native.

It is interesting to note that at the same time a male reaches puberty, his voice also becomes that of a man — Taurus/Scorpio polarity.
