‘Faith Alone’

When the world breaks down,
when I grasp at something solid
and I see it fall
as dust from my hand —
I still have you

Some call you faith,
a little voice inside saying
“you’re watching a movie”,
that nothing is real
or what it seems,
while all the time I sense darkness
descending, closing in

So please stay close
and assure me,
be my inner solidity
and remove this misery;
tell me that all shall be well —
all shall be well
