It is of course far too simplistic to assert that we are all typical of our sun signs. Logic implies that we are all rather complex, with our own particular strengths and weaknesses.
However, an individual birth chart analysis, where many other factors as assessed, can help to give a clearer picture of what we are made of, astrologically — and even throw light upon which health issues may affect us through our lives.
Nevertheless, the sun’s position by sign will always be a key factor and general indicator of our health.
Taurus lies in second place in the zodiac, the fixed earth sign and traditionally rules the neck, throat and thyroid gland. It’s sometimes easy to forget that the neck bears the weight of the head, yet correlates with the essential Taurus function of being supportive, dependable, even stubborn.
Strongly Taurean individuals are said to be prone to problems in the neck region. Taurus is ruled by Venus and this sign often produces excellent singers — which inevitably leads to problems with the throat, too.
Taurus also rules the thyroid gland, which if low functioning through a lack of the thyroid hormone, can lead to slowness, weight gain, tiredness and depression. Sometimes there is too much hormone produced, which leads to hyperactivity. A healthy thyroid gland is clearly very important for our general well being.
Because Taurus is fixed earth, he or she likes security, stability and peaceful surroundings. Perhaps for this reason, Taurus loves gardens and gardening, generally a very calming pursuit which can work wonders for maintaining mental health.
Astrology is also about polarities, meaning the opposite sign can produce a reflex action in terms of health. The opposite sign to Taurus is Scorpio, which rules the genital and lower bowel region, which are also said to be potentially vulnerable areas for they typical Taurus native.
It is interesting to note that at the same time a male reaches puberty, his voice also becomes that of a man — Taurus/Scorpio polarity.

Over the course of the next day the Moon in Virgo will trine — that’s a 120 degree aspect considered positive in astrology — three planets moving retrograde in Capricorn: Jupiter, Pluto and Saturn.
In astrology Capricorn is perhaps the political sign par excellence. The fact that three heavyweights are occupying the cardinal earth sign for most of this year, along with disruptive Uranus in financial Taurus, bears testimony to the political, economic and cultural maelstrom which we are witnessing.
Earth Signs and Structure
Capricorn, and earth signs in general, are about structure. Uranus moving through Taurus is forcing us think of money and security in different ways. Delving and transformative Pluto in Capricorn is digging deep into the political quagmire and pulling up a whole host of frightening truths we scarcely knew existed.
Restrictive Saturn has returned to its own sign until the end of the year, trying to hold on, sometimes desperately, to the status quo. Soon the greater malefic (so-called) will team up with Jupiter and both will shuffle through the threshold –into Aquarius, but that’s another story.
Jupiter in Capricorn is in the sign of its detriment, it doesn’t sit well. How can his need to expand be easily accommodated into the sign of restrictions? Nevertheless his generally benevolent presence there does mean that there are signs of hope and support, to maintain some kind of structural coherence.
Some Better News?
So over the next day, the Moon will contact these inhabitants of Capricorn from Virgo, hinting to me that we may see some slightly more beneficial news, even though all three planets are retrograde. This ‘better’ news, whilst being political and economic, may also involve good news in regard to some health issues or even be related to work and employment — all Virgoan issues.
That said, soon after making contact with Jupiter, the Moon opposes confusing Neptune in Pisces, indicating that we need to take heed of the fact that not all of the news we are getting today is going to be clear or indeed trustworthy. As ever we are going to have to use our own discernment and apply it vigorously.
Just over a century later in 1954, another unusual bearded man arrived at Haneda Airport in Japan. At first sight the man appeared to be a any regular well dressed European businessman on a routine trip to the Far East.
Evidently his first language was French, though he was capable in other languages too, including the vernacular. He was even carrying several European currencies in his wallet, so nothing much seemed awry – at first.
It was when he was asked about his home country that things took a rather peculiar turn. Not one of the officials at the airport had ever heard of ‘Taured‘, even though he purportedly showed them a passport issued from his native land containing visa stamps, supposed proof of previous trips to Japan and elsewhere.
Unfortunately for this man, whose name is unknown, the company he was due to have a meeting with in Japan did not know of him, neither did the hotel he had supposedly reserved a room with, nor did the bank whose name was emblazoned on his checkbook.
The man seemed to be nonplussed by the situation. When he was shown a map of the world he pointed to the small Pyrenees principality which we know as Andorra, yet which he called Taured.
The perplexed officials decided to detain him, housing him in a hotel for that evening, in the hope that they could cast some light upon this strange situation.
Unfortunately the mystery only grew more complex by the following morning. The man from Taured had disappeared, despite the vigil kept outside by immigration staff all night. What is more all of his documentation also vanished from airport security.
Despite a strenuous search no sign of this man or his effects ever came to light again. It was as if it never happened. So what are we to make of it? It could be a story, a hoax, to tease or confuse. Conversely, if this odd event was factual – and there is no reason to doubt it – what are we to make of it?
If it was a hoax, for whose benefit was it to propagate the story? To me logic suggests that this is not a hoax, though the story may have grown a little in the telling.
Are we looking at an example of the existence of a multi dimensional universe? If they are limitless, then it is possible that the world he knew may have only differed in a few details, such as the name of his homeland in the Pyrenees.
And does the name of his country, Taured, which to his mind corresponded with the known land of Andorra, hold the key to solving the riddle?
The name Taured suggest Taurus, or bull in English astrology. The Iberian lands, which could include Andorra, are still famous for bull fighting and the bull is an ancient astrological and cultural symbol.
If we accept that there are astrological ages brought about by the so called precession of the equinoxes, the age of Taurus would have been, roughly, spanning from 4000 to 2000 BC.
If there are multiple timelines there could be sensitive points at various times and locations where perhaps certain individuals can ‘cross over’, so to speak.
However, this probably doesn’t explain the fact that he knew French, or that he looked like any regular westerner of that time. A timeline diverging from a period as far back as 4000 BC would look very different from our own, one would suspect.
My idea that Taured is somehow related to the previous Taurean Age is probably just another red herring, though it is intriguing to speculate. Nevertheless, if there is an allegorical element to this story, then the name Taured may still be represent a significant clue.

She is said to be exalted in the Bull, that is, she is thought to work at her best.
We could look at it as the Moon finding the most fertile ground for establishing her caring, protecting and nurturing qualities.
Taurus, as the second sign, seeks to establish something permanent from the initial thrust of Aries. In the Ram, the Moon can be impatient, angry even.
In Taurus, which is ruled by Venus, things generally calm down and become more settled. A good time to plant and to grow, to get out into the garden, or visit a well established one. Put simply, enjoy the good earth for the next couple of days.
Right now though (am UK), the Moon in late Aries squares Mars in Cancer, causing irritation, exacerbating moods and the emotions, perhaps especially in the home, so best to keep calm about most issues.
Then, as soon as the Moon enters Taurus she squares up to Mercury in Leo, so there may be more than a sense of mental agitation around, probably showing up in areas like communication, the media, short travel.
And then later, the Moon conjoins Uranus in the Bull. Potentially there may be more sudden, even unexpected news about the financial and business world. Again, home and family matters also likely to be affected. Be prepared.
