Poem ‘What Goes Around’

What Goes Around

At last I can leave
the window ajar
to sense those languid
sounds of the street

like life itself returning
from some distant place
a world woken up
by a warm gentle kiss

Promise too in the bee’s
tender tap on my window
busy on beatnik rounds –
I am wishing him luck

on a maverick wind
in the cool melodious rain

  1. Hi,
    Very nice poem.
Your poem makes me think of the early hours of a morning, everything is just so quite, and then the world wakes. 🙂

  2. Nicely done ! Our cats also await the warm gentle kiss of freedom. Alas, one neighbour has chosen to keep informing the cat-police if our poor creatures out. So they sit by the kitchen window watching other cats who are unidentified visit our yard- even with the snow..

    Promise too in the bee’s
    tender tap on my window
    busy on beatnik rounds –

and your image is perfect, too, David~

  4. Ah, you made me long for the opening of a window…

What a beautiful cat! One of mine is always begging me to open a window…he thinks if the sun is shining there must be nice warm air and inviting scents to let in!
